Praesidus: history you can wear

Founded in 2019 by father and son Remi and Oscar Chabrat, Praesidus takes its inspiration from military watches and the people who depended on them. Remi, a former French airman and parachutist, brought a respect for military service to the brand. The company's first watch grew out of the story of World War II veteran Tom Rice, who lost his A-11 watch in the sea during the Normandy landings.

The A-11 story

The original A-11 was built around straightforward timekeeping for service members. Praesidus set out to recreate its design and spirit, then expanded into modern interpretations of military field watches, chronographs, diving watches and other purpose-driven designs. The Type 44, Rec Spec, DD-45, Tom Rice and other collections each tell a different chapter of that history.

Built in the United States

Praesidus says its watches are assembled at its headquarters in Phoenix, Arizona. Its designs combine recognizable military details with modern movements, cases and materials for wear beyond the display case. American assembled does not mean every individual component is manufactured in the United States.

Giving back

Praesidus states that it donates 5% of proceeds from each military and tactical watch sale to a veteran organization, museum or related partner cause. This is the manufacturer's stated charitable program, not a separate donation commitment by Blackland Watch Co.
